AFFILIATION PROCEDURES & SERVICES

Due to the Federal Aviation Regulations under which we operate, we are not permitted to serve or fly those who are not working with a mission that is affiliated with MFI.

Mission Affiliation

Each mission that desires affiliation must contact our office and submit a “mission affiliation application” along with a doctrinal statement and literature about their organization. MFI is constantly evaluating its ability to serve the 100+ missions and is not always able to add new missions.

Missionary Affiliation Costs & Services

MFI is not a commercial operator; therefore, each mission worker desiring to use our services must affiliate with us. This procedure is like becoming a member of an organization. Those missionaries who work for an approved mission and desire the air-support services of MFI while they are on the field are required to pay an annual affiliation fee of $150 per family (husband, wife and children living in the same house). New missionaries planning to use MFI’s services should contact MFI prior to arrival. Each missionary must become affiliated with MFI by sending in a completed application signed by the mission’s field director. This entitles affiliated missionaries to use the full range of MFI services, such as:

Douglas DC-3 passenger and cargo service to and from the field.

Mail service for receiving and sending personal mail and packages.

Access to our purchasing department for the purchase of needed supplies or equipment.

Warehousing for incoming packages and cargo.

Connecting airline scheduling and ticketing.

Trans-shipment of personal packages to U.S. addresses.

Emergency air-ambulance service.

Long and short term storage of passenger vehicles for a minimal fee

Affiliation Renewals

At the end of each year, MFI will enclose with the mission’s monthly statement a list of the mission’s current affiliated missionaries and/or accounts. We ask that each mission return the list corrected with deletions or additions. Please do not delete someone’s name unless that person has left the field permanently or has asked for cancellation. The mission’s account will be charged $150 on the January statement for each affiliation for that calendar year.

Affiliation Cancellations

Each mission/missionary is responsible for contacting MFI when a missionary has left the field. If requested, MFI will refund the remaining year’s affiliation fee to that mission’s account. Whether one is on furlough or has left the field permanently we request that you update the MFI office with a stateside address, phone number and other important information.
