Today we received some photos from a returning member of a team with ACTS World Relief. ACTS is sending doctors, nurses, physical therapists, food teams, security personnel, and others with experience in spiritual and emotional care. Kenneth Teakell provided security to the nurses at Adventist Hospital in the Carrefour area of Haiti, which was one of the hardest hit areas during the 7.0 magnitude earthquake. He also was involved in patient transport, distributing supplies, and sharing food and water with the Haitians that his team met in the streets of Haiti. He also worked on the water system at the hospital, which is run by a series of pumps which are powered by a generator. He plans to return soon with new pumps to try to strenthen the flow of water in the hospital. Currently, this three-story hospital is not able to pump water to the rooms on the third floor. While walking the streets of Haiti, a crowd usually would gather, including those looking for food and water and also men looking for any kind of work to do. Kenneth flew out on an MFI-affiliated plane, and looks forward to returning with MFI, bringing along his plumbing supplies for the work ahead. We praise the Lord for raising up so many, with so many diverse talents, to meet the needs in Haiti. Thank you Kenneth and team, and all the many others who have volunteered of their time, both in the country of Haiti, and in the hangar at MFI. We are now flying a record 5-6 flights a day.
Please consider making an Online Donation to the "Disaster Relief Fund", or bring needed supplies to any of our drop locations. Thank you in advance for your support of this Haiti earthquake relief effort.
