Justin and Addison met in Spokane, WA while Justin was attending Moody Bible Institute and Addison in nursing school. They came on staff with MFI in January 2024 and are very excited to be apart of the ministry and work that the Lord is doing through MFI to serve Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas.

Bio

Justin grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus at a young age. The Lord put mission’s on Justin’s heart when he was in high school when he was able to participate in a few short term missions trips to Bolivia and Costa Rica, as well as a stateside trip to a reservation. During both trips, Justin was able to see how one can both physically and spiritually serve those who do not know Jesus and those who are impoverished. When Justin was younger, his dad took him to a Young Eagles camp where he was able to see and experience the novelty of airplanes. This is when his love for airplanes began. When Justin first started attending Moody, he started with his Bible education and was going for intercultural ministries. During his first year, he heard about mission aviation and had a realization that he could use both his desire for missions and serving others and his love for airplanes together. Justin finished his Bible school and aviation maintenance school at Moody.

Addison came to know Jesus in college through Cru (formerly know as Campus Crusade for Christ). During a 10 week summer mission project to South Lake Tahoe, CA, Addison came to know and understand who Jesus was and the need for evangelism. The following summer, Addison was able to go on a short term mission trip with Cru to East Asia where she was able to witness and see people hear about Jesus for the very first time and place their faith in Him. This is when the Lord really put missions on her heart. When her and Justin met working at a hardware store in Spokane, WA, she did not think she was meeting the love of her life who also wanted to do missions. After getting married in 2015, Justin and Addison moved to the west side of Washington where Justin did his pilot training for missionary aviation with MATA (Missionary Aviation Training Academy).

After getting his pilot’s licenses’, Justin and Addison prayed and felt the Lord calling them to join staff with MATA where Justin would be a mechanic. Justin was able to serve for 4 years at MATA where he helped upkeep the airplanes so they could be flown to further train up missionary pilots. Addison during this time was able to utilize her nursing license and work at a hospital in labor and delivery and teaching childbirth classes to expecting parents. They also had their first daughter Annabelle in 2018, and then welcomed their second daughter Alice in 2020. During this time the Lord put PMA (Pacific Missionary Aviation) on the Vaughan's hearts. PMA serves in Micronesia and the Philippines where they provide aviation services to make the gospel known in these areas. PMA has a year-long internship program, and in March of 2022, the Vaughan’s moved to Palau, Micronesia, to serve with PMA for one-year. Justin was able to utilize his maintenance skills and pilot licenses to serve the people of Palau, flying people and cargo to and from smaller islands in Palau. He was able to lead a Bible study on some Saturdays as well. Addison also went on some Saturday flights to teach the kids Bible study on the smaller island they would fly to. Addison was also able to create a childbirth education class and teach it to an expecting couple who were also serving with PMA. The Lord used long-time good friends to put MFI on their hearts while serving in Palau.

The Vaughan’s, through prayer and speaking with others, felt the Lord calling them to join staff with MFI, and in January of 2024 moved their family to Florida to do so. They also welcomed their third daugher Andie in October 2023 before moving to Florida. The Vaughan’s feel grateful to be serving with MFI and are expectant of all that the Lord is going to do through MFI while serving Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas, as well as those in and around their home in Vero Beach.
