Replacement Life Jackets

Every year the life jackets used in our DC-3 aircraft are inspected by the FAA.  When these essential items no longer pass inspection, new replacement life jackets are purchased. New life jackets are $50 each.

DC-3 Tires

MFI's 3 DC-3 aircraft carried over 3,000 passengers and 230 tons of cargo to the mission field in 2008.  We always need to have at least 2 new DC-3 tires available for immediate replacements.  New DC-3 tires are $1,200 each.

Hangar Door Awning Project

A new warehouse area sliding door has recently been installed.  This has greatly improved the efficiency in receiving missions mail and cargo deliveries.  To match all of the other entry doors, an awning is needed for protection from the frequent Florida rain storms.  The project budget is $3,000.

Hurricane Response Fund

MFI has responded to many hurricanes over the last five years, helping to ease the suffering of many people, both in the U.S. and throughout the Caribbean and Central America.  An immediate response fund would greatly assist MFI in being available to provide this service.  Read more about MFI's role in hurricane relief in this special Flight Briefing issue.

DC-3 Repaint Project

MFI's N300MF was last painted in 1996.  The urgent need for repainting is clearly shown in this special Flight Briefing issue and in the photos below.  The total project budget is $36,000.  This essential project is to be completed by May 2010, prior to the start of the Atlantic hurricane season in order to eliminate risk to the aircraft.
