Position Title:  Reservationist

Position Summary:  the Reservationist is responsible for managing all aspects associated with passengers who are flying with MFI.

 Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates with passengers to ensure both passenger and personal cargo weight levels are obtained as well as their destination, inputting data into FilePro and Reservations Database
  • Accepts and processes passenger payments (cash, credit card, checks)
  • Confirms all passengers are either affiliated with MFI or have permission from an affiliated mission to travel
  • Ensures all required visa and/or passport information is accurate and current for those traveling
  • Ensures flight attendants are coordinated when needed for flights of more than 19 passengers
  • Arranges for lodging and transportation as needed for missionaries
  • Conducts phone passenger reconfirmations day before all scheduled flights
  • Ensures passenger information is communicated to EAPIS day prior to all scheduled flights
  • Responsible for posting all flight pouch accounting information into FilePro
  • Conducts final check-in of passengers on scheduled flight days, arriving at MFI by 6:00  a.m.
  • Updates Excel database for each flight with how many flew, paid excise tax, and destination
  • Monthly completes the IRS auto pay system after calculating amount of excise tax is owed (total excise tax compared to fuel used, entering a net amount into FilePro)
  • Balance cash drawer weekly
  • Maintains calendar for Deanna house and courtesy car; coordinates house cleaning
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned

Education, Skills, Knowledge required – High school diploma or GED; strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word; strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to be flexible dealing with work assignments

Physical Requirements – Position requires sitting approximately 90% of the time working on a computer and/or answering phone calls; ability to see and hear clearly; occasional lifting/moving/pushing of 10 or less pounds; occasional bending, stooping, reaching with hands
