Director, Facilities
Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring all MFI facilities, equipment and grounds are maintained in a clean, safe and functional manner
** This is a self-supporting position, meaning it is not a paid role. Staff members interested in this position will need to raise their own support from friends, family, churches, and communities in order to work for MFI.
Essential Functions
1. Ensure the maintenance and proper working order of all facilities equipment and systems (HVAC, Electrical, Fire suppression, Plumbing, Security systems including cameras, door access, and alarms, Waste removal, recycling, and document shredding, Refrigeration and other kitchen equipment, Pest and rodent control including monthly inspections)
2. Ensure all grounds in and around the hangars and Hospitality Park are well-maintained
3. Ensure proper security measures for MFI are effectively maintained
4. Ensure all MFI vehicles as well as material handling equipment are timely maintained as well as ensuring registrations are current
5. Ensure MFI follows applicable OSHA safety standards
6. Ensure all annual municipal licenses and permits are up to date
7. Responsible for identifying and selecting qualified vendors/contractors as needed
8. Maintains information about basic structural data and floor plan, including the location of fire equipment, water main, sprinkler shutoff valve, gas main, fuse box or circuit breaker, and air conditioning/heat controls
9. Maintain current inventory of tools, supplies and other facility equipment
10. Develop and maintain an on-going preventive maintenance program
11. Conduct monthly facility inspections to identify and address in maintenance concerns
12. Ensure all facility building and safety systems are maintained in current working order
13. Responsible for assigning and tracking all building access keys to help ensure building security
14. Recommend on any maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications needed
15. Monitor work done by vendors/contractors to ensure work is completed satisfactorily
16. Serve as initial point of contact for any alarm notification
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related field
2. 3-5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance
3. Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety; pool certification a plus
4. Strong computer skills with MS Office, Excel, etc
5. Strong communication skills; experience working with volunteers
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
7. Have a current driver’s license
Physical Requirements (with or without a reasonable accommodation)
1. Perform tasks that require walking, bending, stooping, standing, sitting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, ascending/descending stairs and carrying up to 50lbs.
2. Will spend approximately 40% of time working at desk
