Statement of Faith

This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our belief. The Bible itself speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind and is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of MFI’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline our Board of Directors is MFI’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application. We do believe, however, that the following Declaration of Faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible and therefore is binding upon our staff.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. (II Tim. 3:16-17)

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Mk. 12:29; Mt. 3:16; I Pet. 1:2)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (I John 1:1; Phil. 2:5-8), in His virgin birth (Lk. 1:34-35), in His sinless life (Heb. 4:15; I Pet. 2:22), in His miracles (Acts 2:22), in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (Rom 3:25; I Cor. 15:1), in His bodily resurrection (I Cor. 15:4), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Heb. 1:3; Rom. 8:34), and in His personal return in power and glory (I Thess. 4:16-17; Rev. 19:11-13).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation (John 14:6) and that salvation is only by grace, a free gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from any human merit, work, or ritual (Eph. 2:8-9). Those who receive Christ by faith have their sins forgiven (Eph. 1:7), are born again by the Holy Spirit, become children of God (John 1:12-13), and are made new creatures in Christ (II Cor. 5:17).

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Gal. 5:16; Titus 3:5)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost – they who are saved into the resurrection of life and they who are lost into the resurrection of damnation. (Rev. 20:4, 12-13)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers. (I Cor. 12:12-13)

We believe all redeemed ones are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices. (I Cor. 6:19-20; II Cor. 6:14-17)

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones and that this blessed hope has a purifying influence on the personal life of the believer. (I Thess. 4:13-18)

We believe the Great Commission is a mandate to every believer to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. (Mt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

Beliefs on Contemporary Issues:

1. Human Sexuality: We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one biological man and one biological woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Lev. 18:6-13; Rom. 1:26-29; I Cor. 5:1; Ex. 20:14)

2. Sanctity of Life: We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentality challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps. 139:14-16; Lk. 1:4; Heb. 9:27; II Kings 5:7)

Statement of Policy

One of the real threats to the effectiveness of any bible believing organization is the insidious act of compromise. Our MFI staff has prayerfully approached this matter to draft a policy regarding our air support services to missions in order to prevent us from being drawn into compromise, either personally or organizationally.

We also feel it is incumbent upon us to keep faith with those who actively support this ministry, often with sacrificial giving. We have not set ourselves as judges of any man or ministry but simply feel we must do what is consistent with our understanding of the Word of God.

This then is our policy regarding MFI services:

  • MFI will provide support to protestant mission organizations which are in agreement with our Statement of Faith and are actively engaged in the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • MFI does not provide air support to organizations that emphasize the seeking after the sign gifts as evidence of spirituality.

We invite all believers who share our convictions to stand with us in prayer and financial support.

MFI Position Statement

  1. Many today hold and teach that the Scriptures are a collection of good words, nice stories or that it contains the Word of God. We hold that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative and infallible Word of God and is the final authority for faith and practice in the Christian life. (II Tim. 3:16)
  2. Since the original sin in the Garden of Eden, the Word of God has been doubted, twisted and the path to restore our relationship with God has been modified and confused. We hold that Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation and that neither other person nor work is sufficient to pay for our sins and allow us to become accepted as children of God. (John 14:6)
  3. Marriage has been attacked in many ways in our society today and as a result there are those who have tried to redefine it. We believe that marriage is an institution ordained by God between one man (husband) and one woman (wife). (Gen. 2)
  4. Society has reclassified some sins as disease or alternate life styles. We believe that God extends His love, grace and mercy to all without partiality and, indeed, we need to love the sinner but hate the sin. Those in Christian leadership need to be people of upstanding moral character and held at a higher standard and therefore we oppose the ordination of homosexual people to spiritual leadership positions.
