Matthew & Melanie Woods

Please pray for the Woods family as they begin the exciting and challenging transition to serve the Lord as a Missionary Aviation Maintenance family with Missionary Flights International at the Treasure Coast International Airport in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Matthew and Melanie have been married for 18 years. They first met in 2002 while Matthew was raising support for a medical missions trip to Southeast Asia and Melanie was assisting with support efforts. They married in 2007 and are blessed with two children. Monica is 11 and loves Jesus and horses. Isaac is 7 and loves Jesus and cars.

Matthew comes from a long line of military and law enforcement service and followed that path as a federal officer. After ten years, he felt the Lord clearly leading him in a new direction. During that time, he learned how missionary aviation delivers hope, healing, and the Gospel to places that are otherwise dangerous or impossible to reach. As Matthew sought the Lord for where the greatest need was, it became clear that missionary aviation maintenance was where he was being called. Melanie fully supported that calling.

For the past three years, the Woods family has trained at MMS Aviation, and Matthew recently earned his Airframe and Powerplant certifications. During a response trip to Missionary Flights International in 2024, Matthew felt led to introduce his family to the ministry and the area. A return visit in 2025 confirmed what God was already making clear. This is where they are meant to serve.
